It is increasingly easy for employees to take confidential information with them when they move to a competitor or establish a competing business.  This webinar will explore the steps employers can take to protect their trade secrets and recover them, or stop their usage, when employees leave or third parties terminate their relationship with the employer and then attempt to exploit the trade secrets.

Registration notes:

You must register for this webinar before the start of the program in order to participate. Log-in reminder emails will be sent the day before and 30 minutes prior to the webinar.

Registering for this CLE  program is a two-step process. Please (1) be sure you have registered for a K&L Gates HUB CLE/CPD account or have logged into your previously created account, and then (2) register for this specific event.

With coronavirus impacting our homes and our work, so much has changed in a short amount of time. To support our legal community in these evolving times, attend this webinar to practice guided meditation and go over mindfulness tools that  can support us in staying centered when things are unpredictable. Let's support each other so that we all feel anchored and in turn are able to support our families, friends and community. Participants will get instruction  on meditation posture, basic breathing techniques to help support meditation, and sitting through a guided meditation that can support feeling more anchored and grounded.

Paul Rosen, the former chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security who ran point on the agency’s Ebola response under President Obama, as well as Tom Gies, a 30-year employment litigator and advisor, will outline the issues that every employer should be doing right now and how to prepare for the unknown, mitigate a company’s legal risk and protect its employees and customers.

Please join us to celebrate International Women’s Day 2020! As in prior years, we will host a panel discussion followed by a reception.

Our 2020 discussion topic is “The Path to Leadership”. Our diverse and dynamic group of panelists will share their insight and experience as women succeeding in leadership roles and as women who are supporting other women to do the same. We will discuss issues such as how we can encourage and prepare women to take leadership positions, how women can navigate obstacles and challenges as they ascend to leadership roles and how we can best mentor other women when we are in leadership ourselves.

Karol Denniston, partner and Global Board member, will moderate our panel, which will include:

  • The Honorable Dalila Lyons, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge
  • Camilla Eng, General Counsel, Laser Away
  • Ava Farshidi, Assistant General Counsel, David Yurman

This insightful program will be followed by a mixer, where we will celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. We hope you will attend the program and stay for the celebration and networking opportunities, where you will enjoy drinks and canapés.

This program will begin with an overview of what sexual harassment is and how it has changed in the workplace since the “Me Too Movement”, how to spot it in the work place and how to combat it. There will be an interactive discussion around various scenarios.
