Please join us for our final CLE of the year and a reception presented by new chapter sponsor Maschoff Brennan.

Non-practicing entities, sometimes called “patent trolls,” are a growing challenge for companies in many industries. Their business model is built on extracting settlements and licensing fees, often through aggressive litigation tactics. Unfortunately, there is no "one size fits all" strategy for dealing with them, so corporate in-house counsel must develop a coherent understanding of what NPEs are, when to fight, and when to settle. Maschoff Brennan Partner Jason Crotty will share stories from the front lines and lead an informative discussion about this topic.

This free event will take place at Enso Winery--a fun wine bar and urban winery located in the Buckman neighborhood in close-in SE Portland. A variety of hosted beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and food will be available throughout the event.

All in-house counsel in Oregon and SW Washington are invited to attend this event regardless of membership in the ACC.  Space is limited.

The third annual ACC Oregon Basketball Challenge begins March 17 and runs through April 7.

Brackets for both Men's and Women's college tournaments will be available starting the morning of March 17.   All brackets must be completed prior to the tipoff of the first round of each tournament (Thursday morning for the men and Friday morning for the women).

All in-house counsel in Oregon and SW Washington are invited to participate. Your immediate family members can participate too--this is a great way to enjoy the tournaments with your partners and/or kids!  And, the winner of each bracket will get a $100 e-gift card for Oregon's own Columbia Sportswear!

Please click the link for more information and to fill out your brackets.

We are pleased to announce that our first event of 2025 will be a CLE and lunch celebrating the legacy of civil rights attorney Minoru Yasui on Wednesday, February 19 from 11:45am-1:00pm.  ACC Oregon is co-sponsoring this special event with Perkins Coie, and it will be held at the firm's offices in Portland's Pearl District.

This special event will be eligible for one (1) access to justice credit through the Oregon State Bar and/or one (1) equity, inclusion and bias credit through the Washington State Bar.  While attendance is free for the lunch and CLE, space is limited.  All in-house attorneys are welcome to attend regardless of membership in the ACC!
