Join IP experts from Smart & Biggar, alongside in-house counsel from Shopify Inc. to learn how to identify and mitigate risks related data and digital IP and commercial issues in a digital business context.
Topics to be covered:
IP-related AI & data protection in manufacturing and services
Compliance-related AI/ML & data privacy in healthcare and pharma
Risk mitigation strategies for IP and compliance related to AI & data
Real-world case studies and examples

Chapter GCs and CLOs are cordially invited to join ACC Northeast and Mintz for a virtual mixology session plus an interactive discussion on the challenges in-house attorneys face in advising their companies and business partners on how to respond to external events.
Businesses are facing mounting pressure to respond to societal issues that have direct consequences for their various stakeholders. External events also increasingly influence the daily work of general counsels and their teams. As a result, the role of the in-house team is evolving as they are pulled into conversations about corporate responses to such issues as state laws and court decisions with social and political implications.
We will share insights on how various companies create constructs to include diverse stakeholder interests and the decision-making and pitfalls around these types of challenges. Recent examples we may touch upon include:
Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization - Responding to court decisions that limit abortion rights while managing the diverse expectations and beliefs of employees.
Responding to state legislation that impacts LGBTQ+ rights and discrimination laws.
Ukraine - Responses to President Biden’s executive order banning Americans from doing business with Russian-based businesses.
Kindly respond by Thursday, September 22 by clicking the registration button below.
