Join ACCGP for our Annual Holiday Party as we celebrate the Chapter's successes in 2023 and look ahead to the new year.  We will thank our outgoing board members and welcome some new incoming board members.  We will also recognize some of our outstanding volunteers for their dedication and hard work.

Come celebrate with us at one of Philadelphia's newest hotels, The Notary Hotel.  There will be delicious food, holiday libations and plenty of networking and good cheer!

It's time to celebrate!  Join ACCGP for our Annual Fall Gala at the Penn Museum on November 2.  The Museum is a uniquely Philadelphia venue and houses one-of-a-kind artifacts acquired from over 300 archaeological and anthropological expeditions.

We will also be celebrating our administrator, Chris Stewart, who has been the backbone of ACCGP for more than 20 years.  Please come out to wish Chris a fond farewell as she enters into retirement from our chapter.

Please join us on April 30th for a half-day training on negotiation and conflict resolution. Kyle Glover, a partner at Pierce Atwood LLP and an adjunct professor of law at Georgetown Law, will provide tools and tested best practices that will enable participants to sharpen their skills on negotiating and resolving conflict on behalf of their clients and business partners more effectively, and deepen their understanding of negotiation strategies, as well as techniques for improving the negotiation process and outcomes.   
 
The training will begin with a presentation on the key strategies in preparing for and approaching negotiations, with concrete tools for each phase of the process:

  • Preparation;
  • Negotiating with a Counterparty; and,
  • Evaluation of Negotiation Outcomes.

Attendees will participate in a tabletop exercise in order to apply the concepts provided. Following the simulation, the group will participate in a discussion on the negotiation exercise to focus on taking away the strategies and tools for everyday application.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.

This presentation will provide an overview of a number of different issues arising from the interface between social media and the workplace, including social media investigations, regulating social media conduct and addressing vexatious third parties.

Life sciences industry growth is driving the demand for more lab and research space across the country. There has been an increase in new dedicated life sciences development and a surge in converting underperforming commercial and office real estate for use by life sciences companies. The panel will address the unique aspects of life sciences leasing compared to traditional office leases, focusing on commonly overlooked and unaddressed provisions in these leases. The discussion will also include a unique perspective of life sciences transactions from the C-Suite.

"Managing Risk: An Analysis of Key Contract Provisions In Life Sciences Litigation"

When deals go bad or a collaboration goes wrong, it is often the "simple" boilerplate provisions and words that matter significantly in litigation: indemnity provisions, damages limitation provisions, force majeure and impracticability conditions, dispute resolution provisions, and "commercial reasonableness," to take a few examples.
