"
Positioning Yourself in the Legal Job Market: Personal Branding, Visibility, and Opportunity"

Even when you aren’t actively exploring a job change, you may find yourself wondering how the legal hiring market works today. What kinds of opportunities exist, how do experienced attorneys hear about them, and what should you be doing now so that, if the right opportunity appears—inside your organization or elsewhere—you’re prepared to pursue it?

For many in-house lawyers, the answers look different than they did earlier in their careers. Personal branding, professional visibility, and opportunities that arise through professional networks, referrals, and recruiter relationships now play a larger role in how attorneys learn about and pursue new roles.

In this practical discussion, Megan Grossman of Latitude and others will share insights from their daily work in the legal hiring market and discuss how in-house counsel can stay relevant and well-positioned for future opportunities. The conversation will explore how attorneys can strengthen their professional visibility, align their professional narrative, and position themselves to recognize and pursue opportunities—whether inside their organization or elsewhere.

Whether you’re actively exploring opportunities or simply interested in understanding how the legal job market works today, this session will offer practical guidance on maintaining professional visibility and positioning yourself effectively in today’s legal job market.

Topics will include:

  • How the in-house legal hiring market is evolving
  • What professional visibility and personal branding look like for in-house counsel today
  • Optimizing your resume, LinkedIn presence, and professional narrative
  • Leveraging professional networks and recruiter relationships
  • “Power skills” that increasingly differentiate experienced in-house counsel
  • Practical ways to stay prepared for opportunities as they arise

“Class Action Settlements: Navigating Brand-Safe Administration to Achieve Global Peace”

Class action settlement administration is no longer a back-end process—it is a high-stakes, customer-facing event that can directly impact brand reputation, claimant trust, and the ultimate success of a resolution.

Join Angeion Group and ACC Philadelphia for an interactive roundtable exploring how in-house counsel can take a more proactive, strategic role in guiding settlement administration and partnering effectively with defense counsel from the earliest stages of a case.

Discussion Highlights

  • Modern Notice in a Brand-Safe Environment – including digital, email, and in-app communications that enhance—not undermine—customer trust
  • Fraud Prevention & AI – how advanced analytics and AI-driven tools are being used to detect fraud, prevent duplicate claims, and protect settlement integrity
  • Emerging Pressures - managing the rise of opt-out campaigns, mass arbitration, and third-party filers
  • Designing Effective Claims Processes – balancing ease of participation with rigor and defensibility
  • Pre-Settlement Strategy – how to evaluate administration costs, settlement structure (common fund vs. claims-made), and key risks during mediation
  • Empowering In-House Counsel – practical guidance on what to expect, what to ask, and how to position yourself to drive better outcomes

Stephanie Saunders, Michael Lynch, and Cara Braslow will lead an experience-driven discussion on what is working today and where the industry is headed. Drawing on experience across thousands of administrations for leading global brands, Angeion will provide a candid look at how modern claims administration works – and how decisions around notice, claims design, and cost structure drive outcomes.

This session will equip corporate legal leaders with practical, actionable insight to better manage outside counsel, protect brand equity, and ensure settlements are executed efficiently and with confidence.

Contracts 101 for Non-Lawyers

Monday, April 27, 2026

7:30AM – 12:30PM

7:30AM-8:30AM Full breakfast

8:30AM-12:30PM Presentation

Did you ever wish your non-lawyer colleagues/clients understood more about the basics of contract law?

Did you ever ponder giving a course in basic contract law to these employees but never had the time to organize such a course?

Do you wish you had somewhere to send them to get this training locally without breaking your company's budget or taking too much time out of their busy schedule?

Would it be helpful if these employees, such as purchasing agents, salespersons, program managers, contracts managers, engineers, coders and others often involved in extra-company dealings, could easily take such a course?

The course takes the students from the basic definition of a contract through the four elements of formation. It then addresses the different types of contracts including written, oral, illusory and implied, and discusses the concept of promissory estoppel. It finishes with a discussion of contract breach and damages illustrated by an actual case study. The course is highly participative. It has always been well received and to keep it interesting, it is surprisingly amusing.

The program will also address the latest developments in pursuing refunds and strategies for supply chain resiliency in a rapidly evolving tariff environment. In addition, we will discuss new tariffs across sectors and examine the federal government’s ongoing role in tariff implementation and related federal initiatives. Finally, we will explain how the Supreme Court’s decision in Learning Resources, Inc. has shaped these developments and continues to influence trade today.

The Association of Corporate Counsel, in partnership with Fasken, is pleased to invite you to a private dinner and facilitated discussion for senior in‑house legal leaders.

As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly embedded in legal practice, in‑house legal teams are taking markedly different approaches ranging from active encouragement of AI use to strict limitations or outright prohibitions.

Join us for an off‑the‑record dinner and candid, peer‑driven discussion on how legal teams are navigating AI adoption today, the risks and opportunities they see, and how expectations of external counsel are evolving.

Discussion topics may include:

  • What are some creative ways your team has started using AI, and what challenges have you encountered along the way?
  • Which AI-related risks keep you up at night, and how are you tackling them in your organization?
  • What do you look for in external counsel when it comes to their use of AI, and how do those expectations differ from your own team's approach?
  • How is AI changing the way discovery, evidence, and professional judgment are handled in litigation?  Are there any interesting examples you've seen recently?
  • What unanswered questions about AI do you wish external advisors could help you resolve?
