7:30AM-8:30AM Full breakfast
8:30AM-12:30PM Presentation
Did you ever wish your non-lawyer colleagues/clients understood more about the basics of contract law?
Did you ever ponder giving a course in basic contract law to these employees but never had the time to organize such a course?
Do you wish you had somewhere to send them to get this training locally without breaking your company's budget or taking too much time out of their busy schedule?
Would it be helpful if these employees, such as purchasing agents, salespersons, program managers, contracts managers, engineers, coders and others often involved in extra-company dealings, could easily take such a course?
The course takes the students from the basic definition of a contract through the four elements of formation. It then addresses the different types of contracts including written, oral, illusory and implied, and discusses the concept of promissory estoppel. It finishes with a discussion of contract breach and damages illustrated by an actual case study. The course is highly participative. It has always been well received and to keep it interesting, it is surprisingly amusing.
