Wilson Sonsini Presents: Navigating the Complexities of a Remote Workforce: Common issues employers face and best practices for managing virtual teams.

This presentation will examine many of the issues faced by employers in our evolving remote and hybrid work environments. Specifically, we will explore how such work environments can impact the way companies manage their personnel policies and practices, approach worker classification, address restrictive covenants and IP protection, and other related matters. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many employers have seen a higher percentage of their workforce remaining in remote or hybrid positions and, in some cases, even a shift to a predominately remote workforce. With this shift in work environment becoming the new normal for many companies, it becomes even more important for employers to focus on how day-to-day employment matters are impacted by workers who are often out of sight and spread amongst various locations, including how best to protect the company’s confidential, proprietary and trade secret information.
