Join fellow ACC MN members via Zoom at Noon on Wednesday, September 29, for a follow-up one-hour discussion of the concepts presented by Tim Velner in his recent Waking Up Work presentation.

Participants are encouraged to think about their answers to the following questions:

  • What is the goal of my organization’s inclusion/diversity program?
  • Is it important to understand another person’s world? If so, why and for whose benefit? If not, why not?

Recommended reading before the event: Rethinking Diversity and Inclusion.

As with all Sounding Board gatherings, previewing the material ahead of time is not necessary to participate. We welcome anyone with interest in this subject and will provide additional questions during the event to generate discussion in small-group breakouts.

Employers have been dealing with COVID and its impact on their workforces for more than 18 months. While COVID issues have dominated employers’ focus since March 2020, federal agencies and state legislatures continue to enact regulations and laws impacting employers. Board Certified Labor and Employment lawyers Tiffany Cox Stacy and Larry Smith of Ogletree Deakins will be providing an update on current COVID employment issues and the questions employers are facing, including mandatory vaccinations, as well as other legislative and regulatory developments impacting businesses in 2021 and beyond, as well as providing practical guidance for effective management of these challenges:

• To Jab or Not to Jab: Managing implications of mandatory COVID vaccinations and possible OSHA Emergency Temporary Standards.

• Texas Two-Step: Significant new Texas laws impacting employers.

• For a Few Dollars More: Wage and Hour Developments from the Biden DOL and Courts.

• One Hundred Days of Solitude: Managing Leave and ADA issues post-COVID.

We hope you can join us in honoring the best legal work by GCs, corporate legal departments and their outside counsel.
