Date: June 21, 2025 from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm

Location: Rosie’s Beach, 5000 East Ocean Blvd, @ Granada Ave, Long Beach 90803

ACC-SoCal, along with our sponsor Fisher Phillips, will be participating in the Justin Rudd Community Action Team Beach Cleanup to help create a clean and safe place for residents, visitors, and aquatic wildlife – just in time for summer!

All ages – as well as dogs (at neighboring Rosie’s Dog Beach) - are welcome. So please feel free to bring your family and friends (human as well as canine) to volunteer with us! Meet at the ACC canopy, and feel free to stay longer to relax at the beach following our brunch.

Trash bags, gloves, complimentary all-day beachfront parking (kiosk code is JUS621), and prizes will be provided. Students will receive a one-hour volunteer service credit for their participation, and Scouts can receive credit toward merit badges. Walking the beach and picking up trash is surprisingly fun and rewarding-will likely be around an hour of the event. Plenty of time to relax and socialize.

Please wear your ACC-SoCal shirts so we can easily locate you for our group photos and photos in action. If you don’t yet have an ACC-SoCal shirt, they will be provided to members at the event. Please register as soon as possible so that we know how many shirts to have available.

As federal agencies continue to implement the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), and other appropriations statutes, billions of dollars are flowing out of the federal government in the form of grants, cooperative agreements, and other types of financial assistance. Much of this money is being awarded directly to private companies, but it comes with strings attached. The panelists will discuss the common compliance obligations for recipients of federal financial assistance, to include national policy requirements, financial tracking and reporting, adherence to federal cost principles, audits, domestic preferences, and requirements relating to procurement by recipients using federal funds.

Presented by Jamie Tabb, Partner, and Tyler Robinson, Government Contracts Counsel at Vinson & Elkins, and Mike LaCorte, Partner at HKA, along with an in-house panelist.

1.5 Hours of VA MCLE pending.

Join Crowell & Moring International Trade and Government Affairs experts Evan Chuck, David Stepp, and Aaron Cummings for an insightful webinar in which we delve into the complexities of tariffs implemented during the first Trump Administration. We will explore the legal challenges that arose and discuss the broader implications of legislative actions that could potentially impose tariffs on imports. Our experts will also discuss potential trade implications for a second Trump term, including anticipated policies and their effects on global trade dynamics.

Key topics include:

  • An in-depth analysis of China’s strategy for retaliatory tariffs on U.S. imports into the Chinese market, including revamping Chinese export controls and enforcing of China’s Antiforeign Sanctions Law and “Unreliable Entity List” against multinational companies.
  • The potential negative impacts of these retaliatory tariffs on California companies, particularly those industries most likely to be affected, including semiconductors, automotive, apparel, and solar.
  • Chinese supplier strategies being deployed that can raise U.S. compliance problems.
  • A discussion of who’s who in the second Trump Administration influencing the direction of tariff implementation and what to watch for in the next few months.

Gain a comprehensive understanding of the trade dynamics and prepare your business to navigate the challenges and opportunities in this evolving landscape. Don't miss this opportunity to stay informed and proactive in the face of global trade tensions.

Speakers: Crowell partners Evan Chuck, David Stepp, and Aaron Cummings, and Elizabeth McKee, General Counsel of Static Control Components, Inc.
