The ACC NCR Community Service Committee invites you to join your ACC NCR colleagues to sort and pack donated food items at the Capital Area Food Bank's warehouse.

This activity is our official kick-off to participating in Food From The Bar, the legal community’s annual response to hunger in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan region.  Food From The Bar supports the Capital Area Food Bank, which assists 1.5 million DMV residents who experience food insecurity each year.  With significant government layoffs this year, the Capital Area Food Bank anticipates a much greater need as more people will be affected by food insecurity.

Capital Area Food Bank's warehouse has plenty of parking available and lockers to lock up your belongings.  The location is between the Fort Totten (Green & Red lines) and the Brookland (Red) metro stations (about a 10–15-minute walk from each station).

Colleagues, friends, and family members over 12 years old are welcome to volunteer (please register each person).

Calling all fans of Jeopardy! and Trivial Pursuit to support a good cause while showing off your trivial knowledge --

Trivia will start at 6 PM. There will be three rounds, with 15 minutes between each.  In addition to the challenging trivia, there will be light snacks and drinks -- and the company of similarly charitable and potentially competitive attorneys, paralegals, support staff, and coworkers.

Everyone is welcome - attorneys in private practice and working for the government, in-house counsel and those in-transition, as well as paralegals and support staff, and coworkers.

By registering for this event, you acknowledge that you have read ACC NCR’s Code of Conduct for Events and agree to comply with its terms.

Join us for a candid discussion amongst a panel of experienced General Counsel as they share how they approach risk mitigation and disputes, overseeing in-house legal operations, and representing the interests of the companies they serve. This conversation will offer practical insights into balancing litigation with business goals, building strong legal departments, and navigating the unique role of being the company’s lawyer. Our panelists will also share what makes lawyers on their internal teams successful, expectations and tips for thriving in an in-house environment. Along the way, we will dive into best practices and legal tips that are crucial for in-house lawyers today, such as preserving privilege, board and executive communication, and outside counsel management.
