Please join ACC SFBA on the Zoom platform for the Legal Compliance Clinic for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. This event is presented by Morgan Lewis and organized in conjunction with the Justice & Diversity Center’s Community Organization Representation Project (“CORP”).

DETAILS

  • When: Friday, July 25, 12:00 – 4:00pm PT (including training time)
  • Where: Zoom (link to be sent in advance)
  • No subject area expertise required.

The virtual legal clinic is intended to help nonprofits serving our communities flag legal issues before they become problems. For the first hour and a half of the clinic, attorneys will attend a 1.5 hour CLE training providing an overview of the potential legal issues that may arise. Then we will break into teams to work with an assigned nonprofit client and run through a checklist covering nonprofit legal compliance issues, such as corporate governance policies that should be in place.

The volunteer commitment is limited to the training and clinic time, but CORP will then try to provide referrals for any legal issues identified.
