Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands invites you to join for an evening at Clementine Hall

Description

An Evening at Clementine Hall will take place on Saturday, September 20th in Nashville. This elegant and meaningful evening will bring together leaders in the legal, business, and philanthropic communities across the mid-state to celebrate our shared commitment to justice, dignity, and equity for all.

Legal Aid Society is Tennessee’s largest nonprofit law firm, providing free civil legal services and community education to help low-income and vulnerable Tennesseans access justice and build better lives. Last year alone, we helped thousands of families stay in their homes, escape abuse, secure safety, and gain stability through legal help.

An Evening at Clementine Hall will be a night of connection, purpose, and impact—and we invite you to be a part of it as a sponsor or attendee. Your sponsorship will not only elevate your company’s visibility among a diverse and influential audience but will also directly support the critical legal services that transform lives and strengthen our Tennessee communities.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions to ACC Tennessee Board Members Gulam Zade or Peter Malanchuk.

With increasing regulatory scrutiny and heightened public awareness around data protection, privacy compliance has become a critical responsibility for organisations operating in Hong Kong. This presentation offers in-house legal teams a practical and strategic overview of key privacy issues, including compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO), developments in global privacy regulations, and emerging risks in data governance.

In addition to covering legal and regulatory frameworks, the session will emphasise the vital role of in-house counsel in promoting a culture of privacy within their organisations. This includes the need to develop and implement effective staff training programmes that ensure employees understand their responsibilities when handling personal data.

Participants will explore recent enforcement actions by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD), cross-border data transfer risks, and the impact of emerging technologies such as AI and biometric systems.

The presentation will provide actionable guidance on policy development, breach response, employee awareness, and ongoing compliance management—equipping legal teams to proactively safeguard their organisation’s reputation and regulatory standing.

CPD Point: CPD accreditation has been applied for and is subject to approval by the Hong Kong Law Society. Please note: you need to be logged in under your full name and for the full duration of the webinar to qualify for CPD point(s). CPD cannot be applied for members who join the webinar via telephone.

Generative AI in the Legal Department: Ethical and Privilege Considerations

Description:

"Generative AI in the Legal Department: Ethical and Privilege Considerations" explores how generative AI tools—such as ChatGPT, CoCounsel, and Lexis AI—are being integrated into legal practice and the associated ethical, legal, and professional implications. It outlines common legal use cases, from drafting documents to research support, while emphasizing key risks like the loss of attorney-client privilege and the permanence of AI-generated data. The presentation highlights recent legal developments, including the OpenAI preservation order and major copyright lawsuits, which underscore the need for careful oversight. It stresses that while AI offers significant efficiency gains, lawyers must remain responsible for its use, ensuring confidentiality, maintaining ethical standards, and staying informed as technology evolves.
