Please join us for the ACC-NYC Chapter’s first ever LGBTQIA+ Pride Month event, hosted by Meta!

This event features a 1-hour panel presentation by speakers from LGBTQIA+ advocacy organizations, Meta’s LGBTQIA+ ERG, and other corporate counsel. The presentation will be followed by a 1-hour celebratory / networking hour where Pride themed cocktails and food will be served.  

The goals for this event are to:

  1. Provide an overview of recent legal wins and challenges impacting the LGBTQIA+ community;
  2. Address best practices that companies and in-house counsel can adopt to foster LGBTQIA+ inclusion and belonging in the workplace; and,
  3. Create connections and build community among LGBTQIA+ in-house attorneys in NYC.

Art in MTR Tour, Led by Andrew Mead, MTR’S Head of Architecture

The ACCHK Board is excited to invite you to join us for an artsy event brought to you in collaboration with the MTR Corporation: a tour of artwork in an unlikely place — the MTR stations on the Island line!

This is a small group event with limited places. Join us to learn about how artwork is merged into MTR stations to bring together local neighbourhoods.

Date: Sunday, July 14, 2024

Meeting time: 10:00 am

Meeting place: Airport Express Station Concourse (G/F); Hong Kong Station

Tour length: 2 hours

Tour itinerary: Visit of artwork inside 7 MTR stations along the Hong Kong Island line between Hong Kong to Sai Ying Pun stations. Optional self-paid lunch after the tour.

Please note that participants should bring Octopus cards with sufficient funds to facilitate access to/ from MTR stations. Walking shoes are recommended.

Smyrna area members, ACC Georgia Board Member Brittany Teal invites you to join her for breakfast at Snooze Cumberland on Tuesday, June 18. There’s no agenda except to get to know some of your local members and have some fun.

Attorneys with RumbergerKirk will give an interactive, fun, and informative presentation on the DEA’s proposed rescheduling of marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act.  This could have significant implications to all businesses, including drug free workplace policies, discrimination issues, and potential accommodations for marijuana usage by employees and customers. 

RumbergerKirk will discuss the history of marijuana regulation and the current research, the next steps in the rescheduling process and expected timeline, and the specific effects that you can expect - and prepare for - with your businesses.

5.0 Hours Virginia MCLE pending.  CLE is not mandatory in: DC, MA, MD, MI, and SD

All other jurisdictions:  ACC NCR will not seek credit on the attorney’s behalf.  A fillable certificate certifying attendance will be issued after the conference.  Where applicable, utilize your state self-file process within 30 days of completing the course.  If you are interested in doing so, please consult with the applicable jurisdiction for requirements and information regarding the process. 

ACC NCR staff is able to answer questions only with regard to Virginia MCLE.
