This article provides valuable insight into the need and steps necessary for protecting oneself from online scams, hacks and theft taking place in Australia and New Zealand. The steps recommended, in order to prevent both identity and financial theft, include the following: providing account details via email in order keep a record of instructions, following up to emails with phone calls (providing verification as to whom you are speaking with), and also confirm that there are no typos in numbers confirming any email instructing you to make an electronic fund transfer is legitimate.
