This model letter to new hires regarding their confidentiality obligations to previous employers is drafted to be of generation application to United States employers.
In this letter, the new hire agrees that:
- They are not being hired because of their possession of confidential or trade-secret information
- The employer does not desire to possess the previous employer's information
- The new hire is prohibited from using or disclosing the previous employer's information on the new employer's behalf
- The new hire will not breach any other remaining obligations to their previous employer
