ACC NortheastThis Program will equip employers and their in-house counsel with the tools to effectively plan and execute strategic workforce transitions (restructurings and corporate changes) while aligning with business goals, and minimizing legal, reputational and operational risks.
Drawing from real-world experience advising on large-scale changes, presenters deliver a practical blueprint from early planning through post-event support.
- Gabriel Gladstone, of Fisher Philip's Boston office, will be joined by an in - house panel member and walk attendees through the following topics.
- Early strategy: Selection process, scope/budget/timing, alternatives (furloughs, pay adjustments).
- Selection criteria: Objective assessments, adverse impact analysis, OWBPA decisional units, multi-state compliance.
- WARN compliance: Applicability triggers, remote workers, notices/officials, pay-in-lieu, state mini-WARNs.
- Severance strategies: Determining formulas, agreement templates, state notices, COBRA subsidies/ERISA rules.
- Communication plans: Talking points, employee messaging, confidentiality safeguards.
- Implementation logistics: Rollout, documentation, real-time issue handling.
- Post-event support: Severance negotiations, demand responses, restrictive covenant enforcement
