Privacy, Cybersecurity, and AI Trends That Will Impact Deals in 2026
The state of laws, regulations, and litigation risks have rapidly evolved in privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence in recent years. Unsurprisingly, these changes have been impacting the deal process—regardless of whether a transaction involves a consumer-facing retailer, a highly regulated financial institution, or a business-to-business entity.
Register and join Ballard Spahr for this CLE to examine:
- Emerging trends, risks, and developments in privacy, security, and AI
- How those issues continue to shape diligence, negotiations, representations and warranties
- Risk allocation in the year 2026 deal process

CLE Presenter | Gregory Szewczyk, Partner, Ballard Spahr
Greg Szewczyk is a partner in Ballard Spahr’s Denver and Boulder offices and Practice Leader of the Privacy and Data Security Group. Greg leverages a career that includes both high-stakes transactions and litigation to help companies take a practical approach to assessing risk and complying with the ever expanding patchwork of state, federal, and international privacy and data security statutes and regulations.
Cooking Demonstration | Troy Guard, TAG Owner/Executive Chef
Born and raised in Hawaii, Chef Troy Guard spent early years enjoying all that is island living including sunny days catching/cooking seafood with his family. What started as a hobby then became his first job, making his way up the ranks from a 14 year old dishwasher to a sous chef working with mentor Chef Roy Yamaguchi at the Kahana Bar and Grill in Maui. Under Yamaguchi, Troy traveled to Asia, opening multiple outposts in Hong Kong and Tokyo before landing in New York. Guard's passion for bringing happiness through food inspired him to set out on his own. Troy’s Colorado TAG Group includes Guard & Grace, Bubu, #HashTag, Los Chingones, TAG Burger Bar, and Done Deal.
