Program Summary:
Bankruptcy can be fast-moving and complicated with its own lexicon of confusing terms. This CLE will cover information in-house counsel should know and consider when first confronted with a bankruptcy situation and provide an overview of: the federal bankruptcy court system and judges; the different bankruptcy chapters debtors can file for protect under; the initial meeting of creditors; creditor committees; proofs of claim; the automatic stay; first day bankruptcy motions; critical vendors; executory contracts; and preference actions.

- Bankruptcy Overview and In-house Counsel Considerations (20 minutes)
- Creditor Provisions (15 minutes)
- Bankruptcy Motions, Executory Contracts, and Preference Actions (20 minutes)
- Conclusion and Q&A (5 minutes)
