Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC SingaporeIs your company taking the necessary steps to keep up with regulatory expectations on carbon emissions?
Join us for an exclusive webinar discussing the evolving legal and economic/political landscape shaping emissions regulation in APAC, how companies are responding and what more can be done to further reduce carbon emissions.
In August 2024, Korea's Constitutional Court ruled in a landmark case that the government must create a plan to reduce GHG emissions between 2031 and 2049, emphasising the right to a clean environment. This ruling sends a clear signal that private companies will need to take action towards carbon neutrality.
Globally, momentum is growing for carbon pricing. As of May 2024, World Bank reported 75 carbon pricing instruments are in place, generating USD 104 billion in 2023. With Paris Agreement countries aiming for carbon reduction by 2030, this momentum is expected to accelerate despite current geopolitical and economic challenges.
During this webinar, global experts will discuss the impact of the Korean court ruling and worldwide developments in carbon pricing on APAC businesses. You'll also hear from in-house counsel at two global corporations about their responses to this evolving landscape and what they have done to implement sustainability efforts in carbon reduction.
This webinar is ideal for those who need to advise on climate change regulation and the direction of travel for APAC as well as corporate strategies to navigate the path to a carbon-neutral society.
