Event Description: From sweeping amendments to Florida’s civil procedure rules to the Supreme Court’s directive for more active judicial case management, the rules of engagement in litigation are changing. Judges are tasked with enforcing earlier deadlines, limiting unnecessary discovery, and holding attorneys accountable — all with the goal of faster, more cost-effective outcomes. For corporate counsel, these developments directly affect budgeting, risk assessment, and strategic decision-making. Our panel of judges will discuss how these expectations are applied in Northeast Florida courts, and what in-house counsel need to know about the local rules, practices, and trends shaping litigation today.
Brandon Meadows, Jimerson Birr’s Managing Partner, will be moderating the panel and we will be joined by Judge Feltel (Duval County), Judge Dees (Duval County), Judge Janesk (St. Johns County) and Judge Aho (Nassau County).
