Overview (Program Summary)

Co-Sponsored by the ITPEC Network

This Legal Update will provide an overview of the issues facing companies that want to use AI in place of or in connection with creative talent, particularly performers. With relevance well beyond the entertainment industry, AI voice and image replicas are coming into broad use for training videos, interactive voice response systems, and many other applications companies rely upon. When used by outside actors, AI-generated replicas can pose cybersecurity issues that might impact companies, can spread mis/disinformation, and can pose other threats to your company's interests. In that context, the Legal Update will discuss the Guild AI rules, with a focus on SAG-AFTRA's digital replica rules, and how to comply with them, as well as highlighting the other risks it might pose to your company.
