This panel features Cheryl Falvey, a former general counsel of the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), William Frankel, a veteran IP litigator, Jessica Itzkowitz, a leading legal practice innovation attorney, and Eric Ransom a former in-house counsel from an AI start-up. In-house counsel will walk away with a good understanding of Generative AI policies, and practical recommendations for risk mitigation and effective use of Generative AI both in legal departments and in your businesses more broadly.

Cheryl Falvey, Partner, Crowell & Moring, Washington, D.C.
Cheri Falvey is an experienced product safety trial lawyer, and a former general counsel of the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). She counsels clients on the liability risk mitigation and regulatory compliance for the design of products that use AI and IOT and is currently defending a product defect claim where the product uses AI to adapt its algorithms during field service.
William Frankel, Partner, Crowell & Moring, Chicago
Bill Frankel is a veteran IP litigator at the forefront of disruptive technology. He is a member of the firm’s AI Steering Committee and has presented to and worked with clients on AI-related matters, including copyright questions, internal policies, and best practices pertaining to use of generative AI.
Jessica Itzkowitz, Practice Innovation & Knowledge Attorney, Crowell & Moring, New York
As a member of the firm’s innovation team, Jessica collaborates with stakeholders to scope and manage innovation and knowledge management initiatives, advises case teams and practice groups on innovative practice solutions, vets and coordinates pilots of new practice technologies, and regularly presents on Generative AI to clients and in-house counsel. Prior to joining Crowell’s Innovation Team, Jessica was a commercial litigator for over ten years.
Eric Ransom, Partner, Crowell & Moring, Washington, D.C.
Eric Ransom has more than 15 years of experience in government, as in-house counsel, and at private bar. He previously served as Director and Associate General Counsel for the public sector business unit of Scale AI, a Silicon Valley artificial intelligence and defense technology startup.
