Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Charlotte

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) recently voted along party lines to enact a comprehensive ban on nearly all worker non-competition provisions. This final rule, which applies to a broad range of employers and employees - from entry-level to executives, is scheduled to become effective on September 4, 2024, 120 days following its publication in the Federal Register on May 7, 2024.  There are several lawsuit challenges in play that could affect the implementation of the ban.

Please join us for a multidisciplinary, collaborative CLE featuring attorneys from our Corporate Espionage, Employee Benefits + Executive Compensation, and Antitrust teams. They will delve into the potential impact of the FTC’s sweeping ban on worker noncompetition provisions. Our panel will discuss the latest developments and progress concerning the rulemaking, explore the lawsuits challenging the ban, examine its potential repercussions on employers and their operations, and help employers consider what steps to take now.
