Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Chicago

Join your colleagues for lunch, an afternoon of engaging CLE panels and happy hour! First, Faegre Drinker Partner Mike Kanute and Associate Bryan Pasciak will discuss what to do if your CEO or CFO receives a Notice of Deposition for a personal injury case. This session will discuss Apex depositions and strategies for handling them, particularly in Illinois!

Next, Associate Tess Godhardt, Isabelle Korshak, senior counsel, litigation at The Kraft Heinz Company and Luis Quiñones Fernandez, senior counsel, global investigations at GE Aerospace, will cover what you need to know about the world of messaging and electronically stored information. Ephemeral messages are electronic communications that are automatically erased by the platform upon which they are being sent. Due to the 2015 Federal Rules of Civil Procedure amendments, changes in how individuals communicate at work, and the recent Google decision, companies and clients could be subject to severe discovery sanctions if certain ephemeral messages are not preserved.

Finally, Partner Ruben Gonzalez will join Kevin Morrow, senior AVP and litigation counsel with Revantage Corporate Services, and Raymond Rushing, corporate counsel of global litigation at Cummins Inc., as they discuss the interplay between legal design thinking and artificial intelligence (AI), and how to utilize AI as a partner in the generation of ideas.

Our afternoon’s schedule will look like:
•    12:30 – 1:00 PM: Check-in and Lunch
•    1:00 – 2:00 PM: Did Your CEO or CFO Just Receive a Notice of Deposition for That Pesky PI Case?
•    2:05 – 3:05 PM: The World of Messaging and Electronically Stored Information Continues to Evolve — Here’s What You Need to Know About Those Slack and Teams Messages!
•    3:10 – 4:10 PM: How AI Can Help Us Be More Like Museum Curators
•    4:10 – 5:30 PM: Happy Hour

Come for the CLE and stay for the networking!
