In today’s complex business environment, the risk of fraud is ever-present and evolving. This presentation provides an overview of fraud risk management from the general counsel’s perspective, emphasizing the critical need for proactive measures to detect, prevent, and respond to fraudulent activities. We will also touch on integration of fraud risk management into existing compliance programs. Attendees will gain practical insights and strategies to safeguard their organizations against fraud, including learning from prior fraud events and investigations.

10:05 am - 11:05 am - "Won’t you be my neighbor?" Compliance with the State privacy laws bordering Arizona: Arizona does not have a privacy law of general applicability, but many of its neighbors do. As many Arizona-based businesses have regional reach, they may be required to comply with some or all of them:

This session will examine how organizations doing business in the southwest U.S. can build and maintain compliance a with the multitude of state level data privacy regulations covering California, Utah, Colorado, Nevada, and Texas (close enough). We will address major and minor state privacy law differences, new and upcoming potential regulations, and how to ensure your privacy program is addressing regulations proactively, rather than reactively.
