Overview (Program Summary)

In this session, organized by ACC Europe, Control Risks and Linklaters, we will cover recent developments in value chain ESG due diligence including trends and proposals for new regulation, stakeholder perspectives, and how this impacts on exposure to litigation risk. We will explore practical tips to set yourself up for success.

We will be looking at:

Introducing the rise to the fore of the “S” limb of ESG and in particular the increased focus on Business and Human Rights seen over the last few years, including regulatory developments at a high level.
The impact of new supply chain regulations including the new Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CSDD) directive, taking a look at the scope, an overview of the requirements (focussing on the diligence obligations), proposed enforcement mechanisms, and what we expect to come.
Brief overview of how these trends and regulations impact on litigation risk exposure in relation to adverse human rights impacts (including how the CSDDD might change this).
Looking at some challenges that businesses have faced tackling Business and Human Rights, and practical tips for successful risk and impact management.
