Overview (Program Summary)
A program hosted by:
ACC Northeast OhioWe are excited to announce that the Association of Corporate Counsel, Northeast Ohio Chapter will be participating in the American Heart Association’s Cleveland Heart Walk this year, to be held on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, in the Flats East Bank.
By joining Heart Walk, you’ll help millions of people celebrate more birthdays, fulfill more dreams and share more hugs. This is not just another finish line. It’s a movement for the health and well-being of us all.
In the US, someone has a heart attack every 34 seconds and a stroke every 40 seconds. Heart disease is the no.1 killer of all Americans and stroke is the no.1 cause of disability. Locally, here in Cleveland:
• 40% of adults in Cleveland have high blood pressure.
• Cardiovascular disease kills one woman every 80 seconds.
• 1 in 4 people live in areas that lack access to healthy food.
We walk to raise awareness for heart disease and stroke, to live healthier lives and to raise funds for science and research that helps us live longer and cure cardiovascular disease and stroke. The AHA in Cleveland is currently funding $14.5M in heart and stroke research, educational programs, CPR, and health equity.
We all could use an excuse to get up and move and reconnect with colleagues. Let's come together to get our hearts pumping, honor survivors, raise lifesaving funds - and have fun along the way!
Follow the steps below to join our Heart Walk team and walk alongside us to support this great cause! It’s easy!
