This webinar, hosted by G+T Innovate (Gilbert + Tobin’s award winning transformation advisory team), will explore:

  • considerations in the selection of legal technology;
  • practical tips for the implementation of legal technology, including critical people-related aspects; and
  • key tips and tricks for working with legal technology providers.

Caryn Sandler

Caryn Sandler, Partner and Chief Knowledge and Innovation Officer, Gilbert + Tobin

Caryn leads Gilbert + Tobin’s Legal Service Innovation team and G+T Innovate. These teams provide specialised services to support legal services delivery; and innovate to deliver new tools and services benefiting Gilbert + Tobin’s practice and clients.

Her team’s expertise and execution of successful innovative projects are widely recognised by the market.  Under Caryn’s leadership, Gilbert + Tobin was named Most Innovative Law Firm in Asia-Pacific 2019 at the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards and Most Innovative Firm for the 4th year in a row at the Australian Financial Review Client Choice 2021 Awards, researched by Beaton. Caryn won ‘Most Innovative Change Maker’ at the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Asia Pacific Awards 2022. She also won  ‘Innovator of the Year’ at the Australian Law Awards 2022, the Partner of the Year Awards 2021 and at the Lawyer’s Weekly Women in Law Awards in 2019 and 2020.

 

Erin Kanygin

Erin Kanygin, Legal Transformation Lawyer, Gilbert + Tobin

Erin brings experience in automation, legal design, and legal technology. She has knowledge and insight in numerous digital platforms including no-code app building platforms, Artificial Intelligence, and due diligence software, which enables her to design and build bespoke innovative solutions for in-house legal teams, as well as within Gilbert + Tobin. She completed the Juris Doctor at the University of Melbourne in 2019, where she won the award for “Best Law App” and has been working in legal innovation at Australia’s top law firms since graduation.

She is proud to work in an award-winning innovation team and within a supportive environment that values creativity, experimentation, and pushing the boundaries of the status quo.

 

Mitchell Scott

Mitchell Scott, Legal Technology Solutions Analyst, Gilbert + Tobin

Mitchell is a lawyer and published Machine Learning scientist, with a passion for creating cutting-edge Legal Technology. He has developed several applications at Gilbert + Tobin that have saved lawyers hundreds of hours, and delivered complex data-driven projects for clients. He also co-created the "Robotic Expertise Drafter" tool that helps identify gendered language in legal drafting, which was nominated for a Financial Times Innovative Lawyers award. 

Since completing a double degree in Law and Computer Science, Mitchell has gained valuable experience helping lawyers at Australia's top law firms and public companies. When he isn't deploying code or pitching crazy ideas with his fantastic colleagues, he's probably woodworking or skiing.
