Juniper Watson – Senior Associate, Projects and Construction
Juniper has taken a lead role in advising on significant construction, infrastructure, resources and defence projects throughout Australia.
Juniper is experienced in amending and negotiating various industry standard contracts as well as preparing bespoke terms. She assists clients to manage their risks throughout the life of their projects from the tender and delivery model through to contract management and delivery.
She provides clear advice quickly, alive to commercial consequences and proportionate to the exposures involved.
Juniper has completed a Master of Laws through the University of Melbourne which compliments her practical experience and advances her specialist knowledge in construction law.
Emily Slaytor – Special Counsel, Employment Relations
Emily joined Piper Alderman as a Special Counsel in 2021, after having relocated to Adelaide from Sydney where she worked for a specialist employment law firm.
She has around 10 years’ experience practicing as an employment and industrial relations lawyer, assisting and advising employers on how to manage their legal obligations and risks, and navigate employment-related issues.
Emily has acted for a diverse range of employers across both the private and public sector, at a national level. She has conducted numerous investigations for clients in relation to bullying and harassment matters and internal employment disputes, and regularly assists clients in the areas of managing long and short term injured workers, difficult workers compensation claims, performance management and disciplinary issues, discrimination and harassment, as well as unfair dismissal and general protections claims.
Kerry-Anne Palzewski - Commercial and Subcontract Manager at Babcock
Kerry-Anne Palzewski is Commercial & Subcontract Manager at Babcock Australasia, part of the Babcock International Group, the Defence and aerospace company headquartered in the UK. She provides commercial and legal advisory support on bids, tenders, contracts, contract negotiation and management across Babcock’s defence programs, focussing primarily on marine programs. She also provides internal advice on corporate governance.
Kerry-Anne has previous experience in private legal practice in commercial and corporate law, property law, insurance law and civil litigation. She has also worked as a legal consultant in the automotive industry in Germany and the UK and as commercial and legal advisor in naval shipbuilding for a German shipbuilding company.
Kerry-Anne studied law at the University of Adelaide and also has an MBA from Munich Business School. The topic of her Master’s Thesis was Innovation in Legal Services. She is on the Flinders University Law School Board of Advisors and is also Chair of the Advisory Board of a South Australian cybersecurity company, OpSys.
Tim Swaine - Senior Legal Counsel, ElectraNet
Tim Swaine is an experienced inhouse lawyer with a demonstrated history of working in complex legal and regulatory environments, including the alcoholic beverage industry and electricity.
