Program Description: The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provide some of the most challenging scenarios for employers - from both a legal and business standpoint. This program will discuss best practices for internal compliance and decision-making which often requires coordination and consultation with Human Resources, Legal, and the impacted business unit. We will also discuss the pros and cons of working with a third-party provider - focusing on contracting recommendations and the scope of outsourcing.
Discussion Topics and Objectives include:
- Best practices for internal compliance and decision-making regarding FMLA and ADA (30 minutes)
- Pros and cons of working with a third-party vendor (30 minutes)
We encourage members to bring an associate or colleague that may be interested in joining the ACC Mid-America Chapter. The Association of Corporate Counsel offers numerous benefits and resources to in-house counsel including CLE offerings and networking opportunities and we look forward to sharing that information with others in the field.
