Beyond Illusions 9: “Site” of Hand: Revealing Potential Legal Pitfalls in Your Website

Dentons' popular "Beyond Illusions" event series, hosted in partnership with ACC-SoCal, is back Wednesday, August 17th! Join us at the Magic Castle, home of the Academy of Magical Arts, for a CLE session followed by displays of magic.

A company’s website or app is its face to consumers, but what blemishes could be lurking just below the surface? In this CLE, our legal magicians will wow the audience as they reveal the potential legal pitfalls of doing business online to help mitigate risk and avoid costly litigation. Tricks will include:

• Presto! Terms of use/terms of service enforceability considerations
• A look into the crystal ball will reveal new developments in automatic renewal laws around the country, including CA, IL, CO and NY
• Poof! Privacy highlights and lowlights
• Abracadabra! ADA compliance

The Magic Castle has a strict dress code requiring business attire or evening wear, which will be enforced. For men: suit or coat with tie, slacks and dress shoes required. For women: formal or cocktail dress, skirt and blouse or pant-suit and dress shoes required. Casual or athletic attire, denim and sneakers are all prohibited.
