Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Dallas - Fort Worth
Pro Bono Opportunity: We Need Your Help to Address the Housing Crisis in Dallas

1 Hour CLE Training: Monday, July 26
12:00 - 1:00 pm

Followed by the Virtual Clinic: Wednesday, July 28
6:00 - 8:30 pm
Join us for the virtual Dallas Housing Crisis Center training and legal aid clinic to support some of the most marginalized in our community. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the affordable housing crisis that's been happening in the U.S. for more than 40 years. Safe, stable, and decent housing has always been central to ensuring health and stability, and with the onset of the pandemic, the broader and longstanding issue of income and housing insecurity has quickly become paramount to the health of an entire nation.

To help families at risk of losing their homes, local governments, as well as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), issued partial emergency eviction and foreclosure moratoriums. These emergency measures vary significantly in form and degree of protection, and your legal expertise would help ease the burden of community members trying to navigate these difficult circumstances. The training is not required, but highly encouraged. No prior experience is necessary, and live support will be provided by a housing law expert from the HCC.
