Overview (Program Summary)

ACC ChicagoJodie Curtis and Jim Twaddell of The District Policy Group, Faegre Drinker’s federal lobbying and government relations team, will share insights on what to expect from the new U.S. Congress in 2021. They will discuss the key players, policy priorities and implications for certain industries. Attendees will learn more about the primary issues facing Capitol Hill in 2021.

Jodie Curtis, Executive Vice President, District Policy Group
Jodie Curtis has more than 25 years of experience in government, congressional affairs, and representing the legislative and regulatory interests of for-profit, nonprofit and global organizations. A former senior staffer on Capitol Hill and manager of a national association’s federal government relations program, Jodie has firsthand experience on both sides of the government advocacy table. Named one of The Hill’s Top Lobbyists of 2017, 2018 and 2019, Jodie is highly skilled in strategic planning and crafting smart tactics that help clients meet their public policy goals while fostering relationships with Members of Congress and staff. She is adept at working the federal appropriations and authorization processes, building coalitions, developing public policies and setting organization priorities.
Jim Twaddell, Sr Vice President, District Policy Group
An experienced lobbyist at the federal level and a former senior staffer in the U.S. Senate, Jim Twaddell is a skilled navigator of legislative issues related to health care policy, federal appropriations funding, grassroots initiatives and advocacy training. In the health care space, Jim represents the government relations interests of hospitals and health systems, nonprofit voluntary health organizations, physicians and allied health professional societies. He provides strategic counsel on legislative, regulatory policy, political and advocacy issues. Jim directly engages members of Congress and their staffs to advance authorization legislation, secure increased federal appropriations funding, and work with federal agencies on regulatory policies.
