The Ethics of Working Remotely

Wednesday, June 17, 2020

WEBINAR from 12:00-1:00PM

 Program Description:

Despite the changes in the world around us in this COVID-19 era, the Rules of Professional Conduct have not changed. The necessity to work remotely brings new challenges for lawyers and being familiar with the ethical rules can help lawyers who work remotely to think through strategies for practicing law in this new normal.  This seminar will cover how the ethical rules impact the competence and diligence of attorneys using social media, along with client communications and the confidentiality of client information at a time when COVID-19’s impact on the legal industry changes daily and at times hourly.

 Topics included:

  • Ethical rules of professional conduct and remote working (20 minutes)
  • Social media and client communications guidance (25 minutes)
  • The impact of COVID-19 on communications (15 minutes)

We encourage members to bring an associate or colleague that may be interested in joining the ACC Mid-America Chapter. The Association of Corporate Counsel offers numerous benefits and resources to in-house counsel including CLE offerings and networking opportunities and we look forward to sharing that information with others in the field.
