Presentation #1: Effectively Navigating Political Debates and Protests on Our Streets and In Our Workplaces
Speakers: James Paul, Shareholder, Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C.
Andrew Metcalf, Shareholder, Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C.
The already contentious political climate in America will only become more turbulent as we approach the national election. Join Ogletree Deakins attorneys for an interactive debate about how employers can and should handle workplace banter, social media postings, mask wearing (or lack thereof), race relations, threats of violence, and other employee activities and shenanigans. Both on-the-clock and off-duty conduct and speech directly impact the workplace and the working relationships between co-worker peers and between employees and their supervisors. Safely avoiding the pitfalls presented by these issues requires careful planning, good policies, consistency in enforcement, and monitoring. Don’t miss this timely opportunity to discuss these thorny and sometimes taboo issues in a safe place – and from the comfort of your chosen location via Zoom!
