In the last few years, you may have heard more about the transgender community than ever before. As transgender people gain more visibility and acceptance, it is important to ask: would your company be prepared if a transgender person applied for a job or if one of your employees informed you that they were transitioning? This program will (1) introduce you to the basic terminology necessary to understand the transgender community, (2) discuss the current state of the law as it pertains to transgender employees, and (3) identify best practices for ensuring that your company provides a safe and welcoming environment for transgender employees.

PRESENTERS:

Nathan Arrowsmith focuses his practice on transgender legal issues, commercial litigation, appellate matters, commercial landlord/tenant issues, government and regulatory law, ethics and professional responsibility and education law.
