May 21, 2019 LA hACCess: New California Code on Mediations

Amy Alderfer and Brett Taylor, members of Cozen O’Connor’s Commercial Litigation Department, will discuss the benefits of mediating a case and the various strategies clients should consider when approaching and being involved in mediation. Furthermore, effective January 1 of this year, California Evidence Code Section 1129 requires certain disclosures to be made by attorneys to clients before the client consents to mediation. They will discuss the new disclosures and why the confidential aspect of mediation is important.
