ACC San Antonio

Please join us on February 6, 2019 for our next CLE luncheon at The Quarry Golf Club, 444 E. Basse Road, where our friends from Cubeta +Clarke will give a panel presentation on the topic of "Hope Is Not A Strategy: Preventing New Texas Laws From Affecting Your Business and Employees." Texas lawmakers meet only once every two years for 140 days to propose, negotiate, and enact new laws that will have a significant impact to your operations, employees, and bottom line. As a business leader, you are one of the most influential constituents for legislators because you represent the trifecta: voter, revenue generator (i.e., taxes), and new jobs/growth (i.e., prosperity.) It's an indelible mistake to assume someone else will inform lawmakers of the negative or positive repercussions of a proposed new law.

In this session, we will inform you about five new proposed laws and discuss the different ways the laws will impact your employees and your company. Most importantly, we will discuss exactly what you can do during this critical window period when the legislature is in session to change laws and positively affect your company's future. Please email southcentraltx@accglobal.com with any specific, topic-related questions you would like our presenter to address or expand upon. Feel free to invite individuals from your company who are not attorneys but may benefit from learning more about this subject!

Your RSVP counts! While we understand that unexpected matters arise that prevent attendance, absences (no-shows) do have a financial impact on our chapter. If you have registered but cannot attend and cannot send someone in your place, please contact Amber Clark by email at southcentraltx@accglobal.com. Likewise, if you did not RSVP but decide to attend at the last minute, please try to let Amber know ahead of time so that we can make arrangements to have enough seating! Walk-ins who do not give advance notice cannot be guaranteed seating.
