Former US Deputy Attorney General, Fannie Mae SVP, Head of Women's Strategy for UN Foundation Recognized at Global Women in Law and Leadership Event
WASHINGTON (June 6, 2019) –– The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Foundation, which supports the mission of ACC, a global legal association representing more than 45,000 in-house counsel in 85 countries, today announced its honorees for its fourth annual Global Women in Law & Leadership Honors Dinner, to be hosted at the United Nations Delegates Dining Room on June 18. This year’s honorees are:
- Sally Quillian Yates, Partner at King & Spalding and former Deputy Attorney General, US Department of Justice
- Nancy Jardini, Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Office of Minority and Women Inclusion Officer, Fannie Mae
- Michelle Milford Morse, Vice President for Girls and Women Strategy, United Nations Foundation
Yates’ career at the US Department of Justice (DOJ) spanned 27 years, including serving as Deputy Attorney General and Acting Attorney General. She is currently a partner at King & Spalding in Atlanta, where she works on the firm’s Special Matters & Government Investigations practice. In her time as Deputy Attorney General from 2015-2017, she was responsible for crafting and implementing initiatives focused on many of the DOJ’s priorities, including corporate fraud, cybercrime, gang violence, civil rights, and financial crime. She led all DOJ criminal justice reform efforts and implemented substantial prison reform measures. Prior to becoming Deputy Attorney General, Yates was the first woman to serve as US Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia.
Jardini is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of Fannie Mae’s compliance and ethics organization as well as the company’s efforts to promote non-discrimination and to ensure diversity and inclusion strategies are embedded in all initiatives, programs, and practices. Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Jardini was the Chief of Criminal Investigation at the Internal Revenue Service, where she directed staff worldwide to combat criminal tax violations, money laundering, and other financial crimes. Before that, she worked as a federal prosecutor who specialized in the investigation and prosecution of large-scale corporate financial crime.
At the United Nations (UN) Foundation, Morse leads organization-wide efforts to promote gender equality and the rights and agency of all girls and women. She works on issues such as child development, regulatory action on HIV treatment, maternal mortality, mother-to-child transmission of HIV, and violence against children. On behalf of the Foundation, she partners with groups like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, LIVESTRONG, UNICEF USA, Sesame Workshop, the UBS Optimus Foundation, John & Johnson, the University of Texas, and more. She previously served as co-convener on the UN Foundation’s Girl Declaration.

At the June 18 event, the honorees will participate in an interview about their accomplishments, leadership styles, and advice for female business and legal leaders. Zoe Tillman, reporter at Buzzfeed, will moderate. Ahead of the evening event, the Foundation will host a symposium on leadership, diversity, and inclusion. Dr. Arin Reeves will serve as the keynote.
