The prestigious award was announced at this year's ACC Annual Conference in San Antonio Texas

Washington: The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), the premier global legal association that promotes the common professional and business interests of in-house counsel, has named Javier Ramirez Iglesias this year's recipient of the Robert I. Townsend, Jr. Member of the Year Award. The award was presented at the 2023 ACC Annual Meeting, held this year in San Antonio Texas.

This award is ACC’s most prestigious individual honour and is awarded in acknowledgement of outstanding contributions, commitment, and dedication of a single member to the association. This year's recipient is no exception.

An ACC member since 2007, Javier has served as a European country representative and member of the ACC Europe Board of Directors, including as Chair of the Advocacy Committee, and currently serves as an Advocacy Liaison for the chapter. He has been instrumental in ACC’s advocacy efforts to expand and strengthen legal professional privilege throughout Europe. Javier also serves in a volunteer advocacy position sharing his wealth of institutional knowledge and legal expertise across Europe.

“I am honoured to be named the Association of Corporate Counsel’s member of the year for 2023” stated Javier Ramirez Iglesias, Head of Advocacy, ACC Europe, and VP Legal & Associate General Counsel, Regions Litigation at HP Inc. “As a longtime member, I am grateful for the recognition of all the hours of hard work and dedication to promote the interests of the in-house legal profession. From helping advocate for legal professional privilege across Europe, to participating on numerous webinars and meetings, I have always strived to do and be available for whatever was needed. Being a part of the global in-house community is rewarding both professionally and personally, and I am very appreciative for receiving such a distinguished award from my peers.”

Speaking in praise of this year's winner, Veta T. Richardson, president and CEO of ACC, stated, “Javier is an incredibly deserving recipient of ACC’s Member of the Year Award. His contributions have been essential to furthering ACC’s goals of strengthening legal professional privilege on the continent and advancing other key advocacy priorities. We are honoured and appreciative for his incredible dedication to ACC over the years and look forward to the many more valuable contributions Javier will make to his fellow in-house colleagues in the years to come.”
