Join the ACC, Washington Chapter at The Triple Door, Musicquarium Stage in downtown Seattle on March 14th at 5:30pm for an engaging evening with Paula Boggs, a distinguished speaker and musician! This event offers a delightful opportunity to earn CLE credits, connect with peers, and gain valuable insights from an exceptional Fortune 500 legal leader.

Paula Boggs is truly one-of-a-kind. Locally renowned for her decade-long role as the General Counsel of Starbucks, she has also held leadership positions with the Association of Corporate Counsel, Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA), and the American Bar Association. Recognized with a Puget Sound Business Journal Director of the Year Award, Paula has been named one of Savoy Magazine’s Most Influential Black Directors for her contributions to both for-profit and non-profit boards, in addition to being a NASDAQ corporate director.

A distinguished Army Airborne veteran and U.S. Army Captain, Paula made history as one of America’s first women to receive an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy. The CTA requires these covered entities to file reports to disclose specific information regarding its Beneficial Owners and its Company Applicants to the U.S. Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network ("FinCen").

Join us at Big Canyon Country Club for a morning of Pickleball, and a LOT of fun, including an all-American brunch and drinks to stay hydrated and bring out your inner champion!

We will offer a clinic by an expert coach on the rules of Pickleball, followed by a chance to practice your skills on the court. Experienced players however can skip the intro and jump into games right away. In other words, there's something for everyone and all are welcome!

After we get our sweat on (within reason of course), brunch will be provided with more opportunities to mingle with colleagues and friends.

Paddles and balls will be provided (just bring yourself, comfortable exercise attire, and work-out shoes). If you prefer to bring your own paddle, please let us know when you RSVP. Please also indicate your level of experience (beginner, intermediate, or experienced). We look forward to seeing you!

Vance will provide an overview of new California laws in the area of labor and employment.  This will include an in-depth discussion about California’s new Workplace Violence Prevention Act.

Gratitude. The state and trait of feeling thankful for and appreciating the good things in one’s life. While saying thanks seems like a simple gesture, neuropsychological research has linked the practice of gratitude to improved emotion, sleep, engagement, immunity, resilience, self-care, relationships, and overall physical and mental well-being. When people express gratitude, their brains release dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin, neurotransmitters associated with a sense of contentment, happiness, and bonding.

This month we invite you to be scientists and observe how a conscious, daily gratitude practice affects your lives.

Over the course of 21-days, you will receive daily prompts to reflect upon and note in your journal.  At the end of the challenge, we will gather on a Zoom meeting to share our experience.

Thanks to our generous sponsors, Mintz and Blank Rome, the first 70 people who sign up for the challenge will receive a Gratitude Journal!

Challenge Dates: March 6-26, 2024
