Determining whether a product of service qualifies as “commercial” can have significant implications for government contractors and subcontractors—including determining which terms and conditions apply, what obligations “flow down” to subcontractors, as well as the extent to which cost and pricing data can be required to support pricing.  In this session, our panelists will cover a range of issues, including:

  • A refresher on the various standards for establishing that a product or service qualifies as commercial;
  • A discussion of best practices for establishing commerciality; and
  • A discussion of recent trends, including legislative and regulatory updates affecting commercial item determinations.

Presented by Tracye Winfrey Howard and Kevin J. Maynard, Partners at Wiley and Sean P. Bamford, Associate General Counsel, Lockheed Martin.

DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) is about creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and has an equal opportunity to succeed. In today's increasingly global and interconnected world, DEI is essential for building bridges and understanding between different cultures. When organizations commit to DEI, they signal that they are open to new ideas and perspectives, sending a powerful message to employees, customers, and business partners that they are valued members of the community.  But how exactly do you go about advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace?

In this session we will:

  • Explore the case for inclusion and why it’s critical to achieving diversity at all levels of an organization
  • Discuss challenges to inclusion in the workplace, including systemic racism, unconscious bias, and covering
  • Provide strategies for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
