Yielding business system responsibility to an organization’s functional owners feels easy and logical. Finance owns the accounting system, right? The same goes for Supply Chain and the Procurement system? However, Legal plays a pivotal role in evaluating the design and effectiveness of business systems to mitigate future risks. This reduces the chances of an irritated or skeptical customer, potential withheld billings on DOD contracts, or even suspension/inability to bid of future opportunities.

In this roundtable, our panelists will address topics surrounding Legal’s role in system implementations such as Accounting, Procurement, and Earned Value Management, including:

  • Typical Legal requirements surrounding various business systems;
  • Legal’s input and signoffs in traditional design, implementation, and testing milestones of a system implementation;
  • Common implementation risks and approaches to mitigate those risks while considering schedule, resources, and scope implications; and
  • Advisable internal and external customer communications during significant business infrastructure changes.

Presented by Derek Boyd, Partner at Baker Tilly, Heather Gerczak, Chief Administrative Officer at Integral Federal, and Eric Roberson, Government Contracts Compliance Counsel at Booz Allen Hamilton.

Agenda:

4:00-5:30 pm – Roundtable

5:30-7:00 pm – Happy hour

This program is for informational purposes only, no CLE will be offered.
