As information becomes increasingly electronic, consumers and law enforcement have become concerned about data collection, use, monitoring, and storage of sensitive information, including personal information. There are myriad state and federal laws that deal with sensitive information on a sectorial basis, but these laws may not overlap, or may create conflicting obligations and priorities.
