Noumi Limited
For the last five years, Justin Coss has led the small (four-person) legal team of listed FMCG business, Noumi Ltd, makers of the much-loved Milklab brand of plant and dairy-based beverages enjoyed by coffee lovers in over 30 countries worldwide.
The team, lean relative to its workload, comprises Justin as General Counsel and Company Secretary, Pat Datt (Senior Legal Counsel), Lachlan Murray (Junior Legal Counsel), with recruitment currently underway for a Legal Graduate.
Together, the team covers the full spectrum of legal matters within the business, both domestically and internationally. More recently, they have successfully resolved a number of high-profile, complex litigious and restructuring matters that threatened the very existence of the business.
Under Justin’s leadership, the Noumi legal team has been central to the success of the company’s operational, financial, and governance turnaround, enabling the business to return to profitability after having its shares suspended from trading on the ASX for an almost unprecedented nine-month period.
Winning this award would be a meaningful recognition of the team’s efforts over the past period to save an iconic company from what could be described as the brink of insolvency.
