Speakers

Sondra Barbour, Vice President and General Counsel, United Launch Alliance

Sondra Barbour serves as vice president and general counsel of United Launch Alliance (ULA) in Centennial, Colorado, a position she assumed in February 2020. With a nationwide team of nearly 2,500 employees, ULA combines more than 100 years of launch history with the Atlas and Delta rocket families and continues to grow its legendary results with the new Vulcan Centaur rocket family. At ULA, Barbour is the company’s senior legal advisor and leads the Law and Ethics departments as well as the Office of Internal Governance. 

Prior to joining ULA, Barbour served as senior counsel and assistant corporate secretary to The Boeing Company, where she provided legal advice and counsel for government and commercial satellite and intelligence systems. She has also previously held positions within the global law firm, McKenna Long & Aldridge (now Dentons), and held the position of adjunct professor of law at Southwestern University School of Law.  

She serves as a Director on the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Colorado Board, in addition to prior work on ACC Southern California's Pro Bono and Diversity Committees. She is a 2023 recipient of the Denver Business Journal's Outstanding Women in Business award, Axios Power Player 2023, and prior recipient of the Women of Color in Technology’s All-Star Award for professional achievement and community leadership.   

Barbour received her undergraduate degree in engineering from the Ohio State University and graduated summa cum laude from Southwestern University School of Law, where she participated in the Law Review and Moot Court Honors Programs.

 

Jennifer Fisher, Director and Senior Counsel, Boeing Intellectual Property – Engineering, Test & Technology, The Boeing Company

As a Boeing executive, Jennifer provides strategic legal counsel to the company's engineering and research and development teams. Jennifer partners with engineers and leaders in Engineering, Technology & Innovation to advance aerodynamics, fuel efficiency, autonomous flight, advanced manufacturing, sustainability, and artificial intelligence. She advises Integrated Vehicle Systems and Sustainable Aviation Technologies, building collaborations with consortiums, universities, NASA, DARPA, and the FAA. As General Counsel for Aurora Flight Sciences, Jennifer leads legal, partnering with Engineering, Contracts, Supply Chain, Business Development, and Operations to remove obstacles, manage risk, and enable innovation.

A civic leader, she serves on the boards of the Program for Torture Victims and the John M. Langston Bar Association and holds leadership roles in the National Bar Association’s Women Lawyers Division and Intellectual Property Section. Her work has been recognized by honors from the WOC Stem Conference, the Association of Corporate Counsel – Southern California, ALM | Recorder Law.com, the National Bar Association, Savoy Magazine, Los Angeles Times, and Boeing’s Law & Global Compliance Department.

Jennifer graduated from Harvard University with cum laude honors in Government and earned her Doctor of Law from the University of Chicago Law School, where she studied constitutional law under then-professor, President Barack Obama. In her spare time, she enjoys fine dining, volunteering, group texting, cheering for the World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers, butchering the French language, playfully heckling fans of opposing sports teams, supporting the performing arts, ascending the Peloton leaderboard, and pretending to be a golfer.
