In-house legal teams face increasingly volatile issues like data breaches, insolvency, rapidly-changing regulatory landscapes and complex geopolitical events. When crisis knocks, how do legal teams maintain composure and provide clear, principled guidance?

At this intimate roundtable lunch, explore the strategies in-house teams are undertaking as crisis command: from pre-crisis preparation, to real-time response to post-crisis value creation.

Seats at this event are limited to 15.  Please RSVP as soon as possible to secure your place.

Speakers

Simon Bladen, Chief Counsel - Aluminium (Pacific Operations), Rio Tinto

Simon Bladen, is Chief Counsel - Aluminium (Pacific Operations), at Rio Tinto, an experienced in-house counsel and commercial advisor, with strong experience in mining/natural resource projects, commercial and financial transactions, JV management, governance and legal team development.

His position has offered him exciting international opportunities which have also served up a variety of challenges, leaving him to concede, ‘Crisis management … frequently felt like the norm’.  Ultimately, he was able to lead the implementation of a number of core processes and functions to achieve the joint aims using measures including budgeting, choosing external counsel, training, risk assessment and building precedents.
