Overview (Program Summary)

A program hosted by:

ACC Southern California

Interested in supporting veterans in need?  The Veterans Consortium is a national nonprofit organization that trains attorneys from law firms and corporate legal departments to assist veterans in obtaining the benefits they have earned. Although based in Washington, D.C., The Veterans Consortium will be visiting Los Angeles on Saturday, April 18, and has generously offered to provide ACC–SoCal members with a special in‑person training session. The program is designed to offer a practical introduction to the types of matters most commonly handled by The Veterans Consortium and to prepare attorneys to meaningfully assist veterans through pro bono service.

This session will provide participants with an overview of representative cases, along with the opportunity to review select decisions. Attendees will then apply the concepts discussed during the training to those decisions, offering a hands‑on introduction to the type of pro bono work typically performed by volunteer attorneys. Following the session, The Veterans Consortium will assist interested participants with being matched to a client, allowing them to translate their training into meaningful advocacy. Additional training may be required for certain representations, depending on the nature of the matter.

Your legal skills can change a life — this is an opportunity to put them to work for those who have given so much.
