A program hosted by:

ACC Southern California

ACC SoCal will partner with Elder Law and Disability Rights Center at CHOC to assist parents of individuals with developmental disabilities to obtain a limited conservatorship so they can retain some of the decision-making rights even if their child is over 18 years old.

Volunteer Details

  • No prior experience necessary: ACC members will receive a short in-person training at CHOC on how to complete the limited conservatorship forms using a web-based platform.
  • After training, volunteers will meet with families to assist them in completing the forms for e-filing by Elder Law attorneys.
  • Optional: Volunteers may continue assisting families through the entire court process by signing onto the case with Elder Law as pro bono counsel.

Event Logistics

  • Breakfast pastries, coffee, and bottled water provided (sponsored by Crowell & Moring).
  • Please bring a laptop or iPad to the clinic.
  • Wear your ACC-SoCal shirt (shirts will be available if you don’t yet have one).
