Riding the AI Wave: How AI Tools and the USPTO’s Newest AI Policies Can Lift Your Technology Portfolio

With the arrival of the new director, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has implemented policies that indicate a shift in the treatment of AI inventions. In this CLE course, Hanley Flight & Zimmerman attorneys Marianne Buckley and James (Jim) Flight will discuss how recent USPTO decisions involving AI can be leveraged with respect to obtaining patents.  Marianne and Jim will also discuss how the USPTO is increasingly using AI in the patent examination process and what that means for applicants.  In addition, Marianne and Jim will provide insight into how AI can be strategically used to strengthen your patent portfolio.
